^^ a single example out of thousands of Californian districts, does not strike me as a disaster ... even more so because the districts where this can occur, 39 Democrats are well positioned.

California is a hardcore democrat state. Anyone who runs as a dem there would automatically win.

You seem to forget you own words .

You said the system has never worked against Democrats. You were wrong.

Also, we aren't talking about thousands of districts , we are talking about 53 U.S. House races over the last 3 cycles( when California started the top 2 primary)

It's also not the only example. 8th(R+9), 25th (even)
