Without these "polls" the democrats wouldn't have any ammo when it comes time to claim that someone stole the election from them after they lose by 5 points.

The cons here seem to be forgetting that the polls in the special elections this year in PA, AL and elsewhere turned out to be pretty accurate.

Good Point -- pretty much everyone should be aware that Texas is EXACTLY like PA & AL.

Why should the polls of one state be any different from two others?

My point exactly - everyone knows Texas is the same as California, WA State, Oregon, Connecticut, Alabama, New York, Vermont ....... you name it - Texas is EXACTLY the same.

A lot of the cons in here like myself live in Texas, we understand the politics of the area better than the coastals trying to poll their way to a victory here.

???

You're making no sense - nobody said the results of the polls would be the same, rather, the methodologies of the polls are going to be about the same. That is, if polling company XYZ did a poll in Pennsylvania that said Candidate A would win by 2%, and indeed, Candidate A won by something close to 2%, then that same polling company does a poll in Texas and says that Candidate Q is ahead by 5%, there is no reason the Texas poll should be less reliable than the Pennsylvania poll.
