Rush Limbaugh had a caller, an old lady who is disabled, who said she was a Republican but fed up wiith RINOs, she re-registerd as no party affiliation. She wanted to vote by mail. She got a mailer from Taylor Swift and SIX absentee ballots in the mail! How often did this happen to other voters? She decided to vote in person as a result. How many others were so honest?

People who were automatically registered to vote, whether they were citizens or not, by the DMV Motor Voter system received ballots and the honest people returned them and complained to authorities who did nothing except wring their hands.

Why did the Repub candidate for governor, John Cox, receive so many more votes than Repub congress candidates? Would so many people split the vote?

Could this explain the wipeout of Republican congressmen?

Interestingly, before the election one of Q's posts was a warning to 'watch CA'. Was that a prediction of voter fraud?

The explanation for the blue wave in safe Republican districts is simple. Educated people, particularly educated women, see Trump for what he is - a boorish vulgarian who has neither the temperament nor the mental capacity to effectively run or staff the White House. Educated people, particularly educated women, live in suburbia. Suburbia was considered "safe" for Republicans and gerrymandered as such. Their flip to blue was a repudiation of Trump by educated people.

Wondering if the old lady who hates RINOs was on disability, medicare and social security.

Trend combined with current politics did those Republicans in. Location dependent.
GOP lost like 5 in PA which went from massively gerrymandered to a 10-8 GOP advantage but not gerrymandered. PA ended up 9-9, losing one close district.
The SALT limitation is a big eff you to certain states where GOP lost like CA and NJ.
In Texas, those suburban losses I think are best described by Limey in post above.^^^^

In Utah, McAdams was helped some by medical marijuana being on the ballot. That likely helped get more people to come vote during a midterm. I think Mia Love also didn't help her case by not holding townhalls, voting with Trump supported ideas almost always, and more.

Trump said to pretend he was on the ballot. And we did!

I think educated voters are being given too much credit. They certainly were the big factor in some of the house races but there are still plenty of blue collar, self made professionals, small business owners and veterans to swing elections as well. Health care ended up being the top issue that helped Dems/hurt Republicans. That was huge in suburbs. Immigration was the issue that helped Rs/hurt Dems among older an rural voters. This is why Rs squeaked out Florida and dominated states like Missouri, Indiana and Tennessee. Conversely Dems swept suburban house races and made major inroads in the Mountain West.

I also call BS on the woman who called Limbaugh- who in Tennessee sends six absentee ballots. Those are actually logged. And Taylor Swift does not do direct mail- instagram and tweets are more the style for her fan base.

Actually, Trump criticized her for distancing herself from him and said that was why she lost.

It will be interesting to see how Orange County changes with more Dems in charge. It was one of the safest, nicest counties with high property values in model communities and good schools. If more illegals and vagrants move in due to liberal policies, that will change. The Left destroys everything they touch.

Yeah I totally agree about Taylor not using mail. For instance, there was this on Instagram, with a message about early voting. https://www.cosmopolitan.com/politic...e-nail-polish/

Even if it seems odd sometimes (and I say that as someone with several Instagram accounts) it's far more likely that this picture would be noticed these days versus just another piece of paper in a pile of junk mail.
