The dems engage in identity politics, but it doesnt matter if the candidate is actually a minority...as long as they pretend to be one, like beto and Elizabeth Warren.
I thought for a long time that 'Beto' must be at least party of Hispanic ancestry. It was only when I heard about a pundit joking about Beto trying to be Hispanic. He said that 'only in Texas' would the white guy pretend to be Hispanic and the Hispanic guy pretend to be white (Ted Cruz).

The ID politics does wear thin, but as long as we have so many low-info voters it works, and so will continue to be used.

Why? It's obvious.
All three are minorities. The left and the media now are fully in love with the idea of minority candidates and minorities winning power. Had those three been white, they would have received one-third the attention, money, and media prestige. (Maybe even less).
Dems, how do you feel about that?? Knowing that a Dem candidate who is white doesn't stand a chance when it comes to getting the resources, attention and "push"............whenever there are other, minority candidates running for offices?
How does it make you feel knowing that your selection/nomination process is now completely controlled by race? That your entire apparatus is set up to (hopefully) see that minorities win every office in the land?

How would you like to be a fantastic, competent white Dem, running against a lousy, incompetent, minority Dem for a nomination?? lol
Good luck, sucker!!

You said, "let's be honest" and then you post that drivel.

Beto is whiter than you are.

Irish, no less.

It's pretty obvious why he goes by 'Beto.' Who goes by a childhood nickname when running for the U.S. Senate? It's the same reason the GOP recruited Devin Nunes to run in California: to harvest low-info Hispanic, and Hispanic-sympathetic, votes.

In continuing this spirit of honestly, let's also admit that Beto's got charisma. He could be the guy for Democrats in 2020.

I agree about his charisma. He brings some real old fashioned genuine passion and service to country and lets roll up our sleeves and together we can accomplish something spirit. It resonates with Americans.

However, I think he may not have the experience and know how to get it done if elected at this time or perhaps to get elected in 2020 as the top guy. What would you think about him as a VP to say Biden? Just mulling.....

I agree; right now he looks like the Democrat's best option. The others are too old (Biden, Hillary). Even Warren would be 71 in 2020. Harris and Booker are dinged up from poor decisions.

Democrats have won with similar young charisma guys in the past--JFK, and Barack Obama.

Ironically it's the last box as to why Beta won't be nominated to run for President.

The reason why these elections in those areas are big deals, is due to the fact that democrats were so close to wining. Also the elections show the demographic changes over the years. Due to cost of living, environmental concerns and increased gentrification. Large number of African Americans, ethnic whites, Jews and Puerto Ricans from the Northeast will relocate south and southwest in the next ten years. Thus we will see states once red for decades now flip blue. Even the cost of living in California is causing many residents to relocate to Arizona which now flipping blue, and many Californians are moving to Texas, or moving to Florida which offers similar outdoors lifestyle to Cali. Even though Texas, Florida and Georgia were able to retain their Republican party status. By 2030, those states can become solid democrat states, and I can explain why.

The northeast and California are some of the most expensive areas in the country. These areas have urban areas which are experiencing high cost of living, even when retired, a pension/social security, and military pension can not cover a lot of bills. Thus will force many in union public positions to leave California and the Northeast for Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina for living circumstances. Even in the failed commonwealth of Puerto Rico will see plenty migrants relocate from PR, to Florida. I live here in NYC, and its very common for Jews here to have a 2nd home in Florida. Than you have gentrification which is taken its toll in Northeast cities of NYC, Philly, Boston, and DC. The cost of living in these areas are driving black and ethnic white residents out in large numbers. Plenty of black folks will end up in North Carolina or Atlanta GA, or Houston Texas which are black belts. Again this is not racist at all, but just realities of changing demographics, and cost of living. By 2030, plenty of 1st generation Caribbean immigrants, West African immigrants, and Latino immigrants that reside in the Northeast will move to Florida, Texas, GA for retirement, or to relocate for lower cost of living.

The thing is this. When folks from California, and the Northeast move to the Southeast and Southwest. These folks do not change their voting habits. Like I said before. By 2030 Florida, Texas and GA will flip blue.
