Cory Booker is someone everyone gets a long with, his NJ constituents like him, but other than that he has no "base". Thats his problem.
I'm an independent voter, now. If the Democrats nominate a moderate candidate who is willing to work with the Republicans to pass important legislation (appropriations, immigration and health-care bills), I will vote Democratic, otherwise I will abstain, as none of the other parties interest me.
In 2016, I voted for the lesser of two evils and the other evil one won. I'll never do that again.
I am with you completely. Moderate, intelligent, stands firm but will compromise for the good of US citizens. Someone who is a leader who we can admire and be proud of. I voted for neither in the 2016 election, sorry I just couldn’t choose. Neither was a quality candidate. I want immigration reform that puts citizens above illegal aliens (so tired of sanctuary cities, etc.), a good national basic health care system where your medical bills won’t cause you bankruptcy or losing your home, fewer wars, keep the government out of our private lives, stop the overt PC nonsense, environmental regulations that will ensure clean air, water and habitat.

Reason: Auto correct, bah!
I looked up Beto and he's for illegal immigration. I would only vote for him if there's no one else. I will always vote. I will find the lesser of two evils because it can make a difference. We need a moderate, a moderate who is easy to like and can get everyone together.
He spent 78% more than Ted Cruz and still lost by 2.5%. That's not tight at all.
One think I can say about establishment Democrats, they are certainly lavish spenders on political campaigns.
Waldo, it’s pretty impressive in a state where a great majority of the potential voter pool will not even CONSIDER votING FOR a Dem. Texas used to be the opposite where a Dem would NEVER vote for a Repub except maybe at the POTUS level. Of course, Texas Dem party was much more conservative in those times. Statewide Texas voting hasn’t seen a Beto margin like that since the 1980s.
