The Democrats have cancelled the New York primary.

The "Democratic" party indeed. {Sarcasm}

In case anyone wanted proof of the Democrats willingness to cancel elections and to circumvent or to overrule the "Democratic" electoral process, here it is.

Quote:
New York cancels Democratic primary against wishes of Sanders supporters

New York's Board of Elections canceled the state's June 23 Democratic presidential primary on Monday, deciding that the risk of spreading the coronavirus was greater than holding an election with only one contender, the New York Times reports.

Why it matters: This makes New York, which had already delayed the contest from April 28 to June 23, the first state to cancel its primary.

The big picture:
The Bernie Sanders campaign and its supporters had lobbied against the decision, despite the fact that Sanders ended his bid and endorsed presumptive nominee Joe Biden earlier this month.
  • Sanders chose to remain on the ballot in New York and other primary states that haven't yet voted in an effort to influence the Democratic Party's platform at the convention. His supporters argue New York's decision undermines party unity.
  • “Suppressing the Sanders vote in New York will again lead to attacks on the Party across the nation and harm the volunteer effort that our group and others are building for Joe Biden,” said Larry Cohen, chair of the Sanders-aligned Our Revolution.
Just FYI, Joe Biden still does not have the delegates required to win the nomination for the Democrats. There are more primaries and Bernie Sanders has not released his delegates by any means. So, how is it that these delegates will be allocated for the convention? Who makes that determination? Apparently not the voters in New York.

This party needs to consider changing its name. Are the Democrats really committed to being democratic? It is getting harder to support the argument that they are, especially with remarkably undemocratic moves like this one.

Well they could be the "Peoples Democratic Party." Seriously though I am a left-wing Democrat. Please stop insulting my party.

Do you believe the cancelling of elections is a demonstration of their support for democracy? If they will do it once, they will do it again, and again, and again. It becomes easier after the first time.

The problem here is not anyone observing that the Democrats are behaving in an undemocratic manner, it is their undemocratic behavior that is the problem.

If you want to be insulted, be insulted by the cancelling of this democratic election by the so-called "Democratic" party. Your party, you say. Very well, take ownership and push back against this rather substantial impropriety. Let them know that this is insulting to people who identify with the "Democratic" party and that it is not acceptable.

My heroes are Robert Mugabe and Hugo Chavez. This is just expanding their best practices to New York.

You care zero about the Democratic Party. I know that what you want is for Bernie to be the nominee, cause you think Trump can beat him. At this point, Trump is certainly a loser. Live with it.

I think the Fake News will use the Biden sex harassment alegations to oust him, and get their now-preferred Cuomo in there. Maybe??...
