They are going to have to build bleachers on stage just to get all the debate contestants up there at the same time.
There are parameters the candidates have to reach to be allowed to participate in the debates. A candidate must receive donations from 65,000 people, including 200 donors apiece in 20 states. A candidate must register 1% support in 3 polls from a preset list. So far 17 have qualified. As I understand it, there will be 2 different debates on 2 nights. Of course, it may be as crazy as the Republican debate was in 2016.
But the Democrat left and the media kept talking about a clown car back in 2016 for the Republicans, so I thought it would be apt to use the same illustration for their even larger field in 2020.
Also, the title of the article that I quoted in the OP is actually the title of the thread.

Also, something that might come into play in the election is appearance. Given Trump’s age and his odd hair, unusual complexion, and weight, if his opponent is one of the younger candidates running, he very well may come off as peculiar, ugly, and out of touch. Looks matter. Remember how Richard Nixon appeared compared to John Kennedy, his handsome, vivacious opponent. Was it fair? No, but that’s what is perceived by many.
Unemployment continues to decline and they just stated stock market is up.
Trump is a lock right now. Just hope it's the same in 20 months or whatever it is from now....
Like I said, it will never happen. Gabbard is campaigning for a highly visible role in the Sanders administration and to also shift the overton window on foreign policy left.
