I noted early on that Bernie has an unfortunately lack of a sense of humor. He doesn't even have a genuine laugh. He tosses back his head as if imitating a laugh. But, interestingly, he's aware of his deficiency, which I appreciate.

“I wanted to tell you—I’m being funny here, so don’t get excited."

The room liked it, so the next morning the joke resurfaces in Muscatine, again with a warning, because Sanders, who can be funny unintentionally, is making an effort at some of the performative aspects of politics he has long sneered at. “I told a funny joke yesterday,” he says to the audience, adding: “I try. I don’t have the world’s greatest sense of humor.”

Big cover story for Time magazine:

Bernie Sanders Wants to Change America. But He May Have to Change Himself First.

That is a good article. A good story. Well-written. However you come into it or come of it. Thanks for the post.

He's an old angry revolutionary gone democratic socialist .... that's why he has no sense of humor. After working hard all those years, this has made him that way... oh wait, he's never actually had a real job.

A revolutionary who never did anything, for anyone, any time so becoming a socialist was a natural progression.

I like Bernie but not as the President.. he is more like the grumpy grandpa at the family get together who sits in the corner, the kids don't like him because he is creepy and his breathe stinks like old coffee and that is ok with him because he believes that kids should be seen and not heard and that is ok with the parents because he will fall asleep while watching the game and flipping through the newspaper and not be a bother to anyone... Would you like a piece of pie Grampa Bernie?

The Ole Bernie joke.

Teacher asks her class "who is a Bernie Sanders supporter"? The students want to please the teacher all raised their hands except lil' Johnny.

Teacher: "Johnny, why didn't you raise your hand"?
Johnny: "I'm a conservative".
Teacher: "Why are you a conservative"?
Johnny: "Well, both my parents are conservative, so I am too."
Teacher (annoyed) : "Well if your Dad was an idiot and your Mom a moron what would that make you"?
Johnny: "A Bernie Sanders supporter"

So you'd rather have the well package politician who says the right things, smiles, and is supported by the political consultant industry?

Our political system has become commercialized like everything else in this country. It is how industry leaders get left wing democrats to support the people in power rather than their own vision for society.

If this is "another" reason to like bern (and it really isn't) what is the presumed prior reason?

One would be that he is not Biden or Hillary.
