....news is that at the end of 6 years, after America has been made GREAT again and I leave the beautiful White House (do you think the people would demand that I stay longer? KEEP AMERICA GREAT), both of these horrible papers will quickly go out of business & be forever gone!

I don’t think he knows how congressional amendments work, but that’s not surprising.

Lol. This guy lives in an alternate universe where fiction reigns.

He is a legend in his own mind. Most of the rest of us think he's an ass.

Pence will take over the reins in January 2025, so we are good.

Besides unconstitutional which means nothing to him, Trump would never survive a 2nd term (mentally or physically) let alone a 3rd term. Maybe Ivanka could inherit the throne, um Presidency?

Yes indeed. Triggers so easily.

By the by, here is a thread someone started, in January 2013, asking whether Obama could somehow run for a third term:

https://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ama-could.html

I posted on the first page, saying it was idiocy. A few others also noted that no one in the Obama Administration (including Obama) had said anything at all about a third term.

Yet, the thread went on for 13 pages, with mainly Obama supporters saying they were against anyone serving a third term (even of the Constitution could be amended), while a surprising number of non-Obama supporters believed that something was afoot (on page 4, one of our conservative posters declared that Obama would simply issue an executive order, it being believed that Obama virtually invented executive orders).

Anyway, should Mr. Trump win re-election, I imagine many of his supporters will clamor for his being eligible for a third term, by fair means or foul.

That's very good spin because it's assumed he wins a 2nd term in order to be considered for a 3rd term. It requires people to visualize him already having served 2 terms. He's a marketing genius. And he keeps repeating it so it sticks. This is part of his re-election strategy - talk about a 3rd term because one must have 2 terms before the 3rd term.

Well, that was a nice walk down memory lane.
interesting to see how some posters' thoughts have "evolved" since then.
