The high-up party insiders know that they cannot defeat Trump. The current crop of Democrats are being used as pawns/experiments for how to rebrand the party for 2024.

Yea, Hillary won the popular vote like polls said and the key electoral votes that won Trump the election were within margin of error (less than 1% in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin). Trump got lucky and barely won those key states and the polls were accurate.
