Yeah, I am looking forward to watching tonight's debate. It should be more interesting than last night's, although last night's entertainment value would be hard to beat (yes, I'm talking about you Cory and Beto!) Bwa ha ha!
Most Democrats will laugh when you tell them what they are seeing and hearing isn't really happening.
Decency trumps indecency!
It doesn't win contests, though, and like it or not, a campaign is a contest.
Trump won because he understood the power of spectacle. That's why he's been immune to all the pearl-clutching that's been going on since he announced his intent to run the first time. All his opponents, in both parties, are operating as if it's a high school debate, while he's running the game his way and ignoring the rules.
You can sit there and decently debate substantive issues all night long, but you won't stand a chance to win a contest against someone who has tapped into passion and energy, whether or not that passion and energy are authentic. His supporters don't care, and they don't care if you point out the flaws. He has exploited an obviously corrupt political system, and he won because of that.
Watch the debates and enjoy learning. And prepare for another four years of Trump. If Hillary couldn't beat him, no one can.
You're right. Grown adults actually discussing the issues isn't their cup of tea. No spectacle.
What issues?
How we're going to open the border to the entire world?
How we are going bail out people who borrowed way too much money for a worthless college degree?
