I just can’t imagine how his proposal of taxing the riches to the extreme will garner him more support? I think it will drive down his support further as if he hasn't suffered enough polling drop.
Regardless of what he says now, I think Bernie has already fallen far behind on two fronts. There are too many people (including union voters and some public workers) who have made job decisions based on benefits who will not want to see a 'decrease' in their insurance quality. And he has taken so long to have any specifics on any proposal that Liz Warren has literally eaten his lunch. If you look at the demographics of his supporters and hers- she is much better suited for several of the early primary states and could cut off his oxygen by the time votes are counted in California's primary.
Bernie's other problem is that no one around him understood that he really never had 40 something percent support in 2016. He was the giant beneficiary of the anti-Hillary and anti-establishment votes that year. With 20 choices and a couple who are in similarly liberal lanes, he has seen the progressive vote only amounts to 30 something percent and only half of that is even available to him when there is an alternate.

Most people aren't rich and most people want the rich to pay alot more than they do now. The proposal will not hurt him. It may not grow his support but it won't hurt him.
