After 25 years of voting Democrat like a good little girl, I'm mystified at how we ended up with this guy. Even Biden supporters are hard pressed to defend him. As time goes by, I'm increasingly convinced someone else pressured him to run and he is trying to lose. Even Obama told him, "Joe, you don't have to do this." [run for president.]
What I am seeing is a guy who doesn't want to be president, a man who is sabotaging his own campaign and is trying to lose. What candidate for political office doesn't campaign? He didn't even campaign before the virus. He's not leaving his house, his virtual press conference was a mess, he's barely fundraising, he's not announcing his cabinet, he's not increasing enthusiasm or trying to round up support among groups he needs. He promised us he would NOT serve more than one term and told voters repeatedly not to vote for him!
There is only one logical explanation: he's implying to voters he doesn't want to be president. But there are none so blind as they who will not see, and Democrats are so blinded by Trump hate we refuse to accept the obvious: Biden doesn't want this.
Hopefully you've found yourself where I find myself: Politically homeless and waking up to the fact that the party you were raised to believe was virtuous and good is a steaming pile of crap.
In my case, that the Republican Party. My prior allegience to the GOP still informs my thinking to some degree. I don't know if you're ever completely free to think for yourself. But at least I'm free to try.
I don't buy that Joe Biden is somehow virtuous or even a good person. The same is true of Trump, Obama, Clinton, the Bushes, etc. It seems that these people do what they are told and you can't expect much more from them.
I have no idea why the Dems think Biden was a good idea. They took every flaw Donald Trump has and copied them almost perfectly. Add in a healthy dose of Dan Quayle-like saying stupid stuff and likely dementia for good measure, and you have the Democrat nominee. What in the world were they thinking???

I suppose it may be possible for Biden to find a running mate that demonstrates an unearthly amount of white guilt. Somebody willing to go on national television and protest Aspirin for forcing blacks to have to 'pick cotton' out of the bottle before taking their pill or some such nonsense. Thing is, I'm more surprised that hasn't been a topic of discussion yet in this world of endlessly irrational virtue signaling.

The deep state and the media thought they controlled who won the presidency. Look how they ousted Sanders. People liked Trump because he didn't cower and fought back.
I remember not voting for years because I believed that my vote didn't matter because they'll install who they wanted. Trump didn't play their game. They thought they controlled the people, in 2016 the people showed them different. That's why they hate Trump and his supporters to the point of derangement.
Man, I wonder how those same people feel now, seeing Trump whine every time someone says anything other than praise about him, and seeing him run away from reporters with his tail between his legs every time they ask him a question that he can't answer without exposing his corruption.
I often wonder if I would do the same as those who felt that way? Would I keep my pride and dignity, and stand behind the lie that Trump is a powerful man, who "didn't cower and fought back", or would I admit I was wrong and use it as a life lesson? I'd like to think I'd be in the latter group, but I can totally understand that many of Trump supporters are really just weak, spineless people, and they are not going to stand up for themselves any more than the empty, ill-fitting suit they voted for.

He's not a comfortable anything. Just old. He's the weird uncle that you never allow your kids to be alone with. You don't know if he's a child molester, but you think he might be. He's the weird uncle that gropes your wife at Christmas dinner and laughs about it.
When I voted for Obama in 2008, I realized exactly why he picked Joe Biden. Here's a guy who's so terrible that you'd never ever want him to be president. If you're electing the first black president in a country with a past history for lynching blacks, you've just made assassinating the president a phenomenally awful idea. I think Dan Quayle and Dick Cheney were VP's for exactly the same reasons, but Quayle and Biden were blatantly obvious examples.
I have very little love for either party, but I do want them to put their best foot forward. I'm increasingly of the opinion that even Marxist Comrade Bernard Sanders would have been a better choice. The best two candidates were Gabbard and Gillibrand. The Dems completely ignored them. But even among the ranks of candidates they didn't ignore, anything is better than Biden.
