The program for the free ID is the voter ID law, every state that has this law will issue the ID for free.

My Grandmother stopped driving in her 50's but kept her license current until she was in her 70's. She switched to non license ID that she paid for every four years until she died near the age of 101. Under the voter ID law here in PA she would of received it free. For her and others that will be mostly low income people paying for a non license ID it is a pure benefit.

All political parties change over time. If they didn't they would go extinct, like the Federalists, the Whigs, etc. And no matter what you think, Lincoln was a Republican. To deny that is absurd. To say that voter ID laws discriminate against blacks is at the very least, patronizing. Why wouldn't black adults have some form of government issued ID? You cannot function in our society with out one.

'Generally agreed' by Democrats doesn't mean a thing. Neither do your constant posts with 'proof' by the NY Times and their ilk. Why can't you ever post something factual with facts from disparate sources...? You just can't. Can you please post something intelligent?

Wrong. It is how the democrats try to spin it. Accuse their opponent of what you actually are and then use identity politics to stir the pot and divide.

Interesting to see the number of IT WAS THE DEMOCRATS responses to everything racist between the nineteenth century and mid twentieth century. Completely forgetting the parties positional switch switch around that time

Excerpt: GOP, suppressing the vote for 150 years
Response: Twisted...Simply twisted... all one has to do is enter any college and watch how quickly a conservative is kept from speaking.

Conservatives Have Been Suppressing the Vote for 150 Years
By David W. Blight

With customary ignorance, Mr. Trump has also stumbled unknowingly into history, our long tale of trickery, laws, Orwellian propaganda and violence as ways of keeping the mass of voters from casting ballots. Since the beginning of our Republic, and especially since Emancipation and the stirrings of black suffrage established in the 14th and 15th Amendments, restricting the franchise has been a frighteningly effective tool of conservatism and entrenched interests.

America has a long history of attempts to restrict the right to vote to people with property, with sufficient formal education and, too often, those privileged by gender or race. Political minorities — today’s Republican Party, antebellum slaveholders, Gilded Age oligarchs or rural states empowered disproportionately by the Electoral College — have always feared and suppressed the expansion of both the right and the access to the right to vote. There is no Republican majority in America, except on Election Days...

Lies and cunning sustain voter suppression in its many forms. Only truth and fierce political action can reveal and defeat it.

Electoral vote was first put in place to protect the South, the states with less population. I hope you know, the South is what later became the Democrats, which was pro-salary.

Lincoln, one of our greatest presidents became president because he won the electoral votes, not the popular vote. If not because of Lincoln, you bet the Democrats will keep salary into the 21st century.

The liberal Democrats is not your friends. They suppress you and keep you in place while they become very very wealthy.

I'm pretty sure most politicians are pro-salary.... sorry, couldn't help myself. That spellchecker does not always have the correct word listed first.
