Just a friendly reminder. For anyone who has requested a mail in ballot, but changed their own mind and will vote in person, check with your state about the proper procedure.

My state requires you to bring the mail-in ballot to the polling place. At that time the mail-in ballot can be locked and the in-person ballot can be unlocked for your use. It only takes a few moments to complete the process, and the surrendered ballot will go back to the county clerk stapled to the ballot application.

The mail-in ballot must be accounted for before your vote can proceed.

If you have already destroyed the ballot you may have to sign an affidavit and vote provisionally. The process is simple, but it can take a bit longer.

Check with your state, or call your county clerk's office for confirmation.

That seems pretty kludgy. What if the dog ate it? You spilled your coffee all over it. But you are right, the laws vary. Here like many places the mail ballot has to be there by COB on Nov 3. So given Trump's efforts to kneecap the Post Office, it would be wise to drop it at the poll on election day or Best to get it in now.

If the dog ate it, you vote provisionally. I think it is the right way, it helps cut down on fraud. One signature, one vote.

That is what I did yesterday. I wanted my vote to count.
