People seem to have forgotten we are in the 21st century, where technology rules, and is a huge part of our lives.
All it would seem, except election counting.
How come at this day and age we are still counting ballots by hand?
This should be done at the speed of light, by computers.
Many of the world's businesses keep track of business records, and inventories via computer, or other technologies.
Why is vote counting remaining as if it were the 1800's?
Waiting 4,5, 10 days after the election to see final results is absolutely archaic.
I hope by the next elections, technology will give us the results in a timely manner , like it should be.
I have seen some facilities sorting the ballots by some type of automated system, but not anything close to counting them.
How do we pay to upgrade the infrastructure and systems to handle that? Do you want state resources (tax money) to be taken away from other programs to build that out?
Idealistically I agree with you. Practically speaking, it's not that easy.
