I think both parties are mostly waiting around to see who shows up in 2024 right now.

It wouldn't surprise me if 2024 came down to 2 brand new candidates who aren't well-known nationally inside or outside their respective parties.

Tammy Duckworth possibly. But she doesn't seem the type who would challenge Biden or Harris if either decided to run. As another Democratic Senator, Elizabeth Warren seems more likely as she has a backstabbing element in her.

But maybe Biden announces he isn't running and Harris doesn't really fight for it. Harris is better at circumlocution, virtue signaling and putting herself as a victim of racism or some other injustice, but might not really have in it her to run a campaign to the end. She quit last time rather soon.

It’s going to be John Fetterman for the Democrats vs Adam Kinzinger for the GOP. I wouldn’t have an issue with either candidate.

I see Gretchen Whitmer for the VP and Liz Cheney as VP for the GOP

Those would be the type of newcomers I think would arise. Solid public servants who want the job and aren't fame hounds.
They exist all over in both parties. Many are well known in their states, but not nationally. Yet.

I'm baffled by the notion that Republican primary voters would choose Adam Kinzinger as their presidential nominee. In reality, they want Trump himself, or someone who represents a continuation of his combativeness and conservative policies. They don't want a nominee whose focus in his last term in Congress has been on exposing the reality of how the last Republican president conducted himself after losing re-election. Undermining the party's leader who was entitled to another term by default (never mind the 7 million popular vote and 74 electoral college vote margin against him) will lead Kinzinger nowhere in Republican politics. The same is true for Cheney.

I would love to start with a clean slate of moderate young candidates on both sides. No DeSantis, no Trump, No Biden, no Kamala. However, if DeSantis or Trump is the Republican nominee? I'll continue to vote for the Democratic candidate. If Chris Christie runs vs Kamala? I'll vote for Christie. I'm tired of the fringe on both sides.

Tim Ryan, Michael Bennett are certainly moderate democrats. Still over 2 years away it's impossible to tell but Biden will be too old and Harris would be a losing choice.

Biden is too old and Trump too toxic. Biden job was to keep Trump out of the Whitehouse and accomplished that. He should be focusing on finding his successor because she is not it. Her chances are about as good as Pence and both will never hold the title of president. Trump still has strangle hold on the GOP and even if he does not run he will have a huge say so in who does. If you lick his boots you want get his endorsement. The MAGA crowd will get behind whoever he tells them to get behind. This is great for the primary but could be a disaster for the general. Both parties have much work to do my guess it will be another less of two evils election.

Biden’s best hope for 2024 might be Donald Trump

President Biden sees himself as the Democrat with the best chance of beating former President Trump.

Sleepy Joe won’t make it that long, but if he does, yes please. It’s a fabulous idea.
