Would you be willing to use a biometric voter method such as fingerprint or eye scan? Challenges for sure, but one voter, one vote! What do you think?

I don't know. Half the time my iPhone can't recognize my fingerprint to unlock the phone. Could all the local precincts afford good enough equipment?

I think it will come to that at some point. At first it will be an optional method of voter ID then at some point maybe 20+ years down the the road it will be mandatory.

Biometric IDs like finger print scans and iris scans are heuristics and there can be collisions with large numbers of people.

It would be better if there were some deterministic way of verifying identity. But if having an ID card is too high a bar, forget about remembering a password.

I think the best way would be to combine the two. You enter in your social, or present a voter ID card to narrow down what the biometric is searching for. The biometric is then just matching the identity to your other form of ID.

In other words, your social is your username and your biometric is your password.

I had a laptop years ago that did a fingerprint swipe to unlock it as well, and would occasionally have the same issue.

Probably. I want secure elections. Without secure elections, I don't feel that there is any point in voting. If that's the only way, then I'm onboard.

Sure.

And the system works well enough for Disney, with millions of visitors per year. Seems there would be ways to make it work at a government level.

Democrats will want to add on Gravestone recognition for its millions of vote-by-mail constituents.

No, but it will not happen, either. We cannot even get the Democratic Party to support Voter ID, even though eighty percent of Americans, including the vast majority of minorities, support Voter ID...
