Dixon has lost this way behind in the polls GOP pulled their money.

Whitmer has 28 time as much money as Dixon.

This was the first of two debates between the two candidates, taking place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Curiously, it was shown only on local TV - it wasn't available in the Metro Detroit area.

The second debate will take place on October 25, 2022 at 7:00pm, at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, a Detroit suburb. That debate will definitely be broadcast in the Detroit media market via a local TV station.

For those outside of Michigan, Metro Grand Rapids is about a million people, or one tenth of the state's population. It's also the center of traditional conservatism in Michigan. Metro Detroit is about 4.5 million people, nearly half of the state's population. It trends liberal, but also has conservative sections.

Regarding Dixon's campaign funding situation - she's the hand-picked candidate of Betsy DeVos. IMO, maybe the other GOP players pulled their money as the expected DeVos to pick up the check.

Nope. The most recent poll has Whitmer and Dixon tied at 44%:

Biden will probably drag Dixon across the finish line to victory.

In an even more recent poll, Whitmer is up +11%

Wishful thinking at best.

I think Governor Whitmer, unfortunately, has a two to three percentage point advantage.

Most polls, in the second week in October of 2020, had President Biden winning Michigan by eleven percentage points, and when all was said and done, he won the state by a little under three percentage points.

This race is competitive. Ms. Dixon could pull off an upset victory, being that we are in a Republican-favorable year, and Michigan is not the same Democratic state it used to be, but I would give the Governor a slight advantage.

That poll has 39% citing the most important issue as....abortion. LOL! Um, no - every other poll has inflation, the economy, crime (which was 0% according to this poll - bull), and the border higher up than abortion.

Also, 21% of the respondents are union members??? That's interesting, because only 13% of Michigan's voters belong to unions according to the government. https://www.bls.gov/regions/midwest/...p_michigan.htm

64% of the respondents agree that "our very democracy is at stake" because of January 6th? LMAO. Sure.

It's a garbage poll. Epic MRA was wrong about the 2016 and the 2020 Michigan Presidential election by 4.2 points in each election (both times weighting towards the Democrats of course).

Well, crime is nonexistent in Detroit and Flint. Or universally unconcerning, especially in comparison to abortion “rights”.
