Received my Nevada ballot in the mail yesterday and noticed that the election department needs to receive it within 4 days after election day for it to count.
I thought mail-in voting made the process easier and more efficient. I'm perplexed as to why even with mail-in voting the Nevada Election Department has to give 4 days after election day just to receive the ballot?
I don't know why I thought the election would be decided on Election Day.

The ballot still must be post-marked by or before Election Day. They do allow several days to account for mail delays and/or those who wait until the last minute to send it in for their votes to count.
The Democrats can't stop counting ballots on Election Day because they need to know how many mail-in votes to manufacture in order for the Democrat win. In Nevada they've given themselves 4 days to do that.
Because the Post Office isn't instant? It has to be postmarked by Election day. There are people out of state, like military members, who can legitimately vote in the Nevada election and their ballot may take a bit to arrive, so 4 days after with it having to be postmarked by Election Day, sounds like a reasonable deadline.
It could be decided (where enough votes are counted to be reasonably certain who won) on Election Day possibly, but not necessarily. Looks like some areas will be doing hand counting, so that could slow results down.
Ask Louis DeJoy why the Post Office needs extra time. No, seriously, what does it matter if the final day is 4 or 7 days after Election Day? The key is the postmark. Postal delays should never be responsible for invalidating someone's legally cast ballot.

Wow. Do you not trust mail-in balloting in any scenario then?
TBH- Dems have to quit fetishizing vote by mail. It is too dependent on matching the post office schedule, nothing going wrong, and filling in all fields correctly which seems to be a problem for many. It also creates a disconnect when in person and mail in are so out of jibe.
That said- in the Western states and Florida Republicans typically match/outperform Dems among mail in voters. But I'll be honest, it would be within reason to insist all votes arrive on election day at the latest.

I'm not a fan of early or mail-in voting (except legitimate absentee), but I understand that some areas are so populous that it's very had for people to actually go to the polls on election day. So they have to be more flexible.
Nevada only has about 3.1 million people so mail-in isn't justtified based solely on population. Las Vegas is the only really large city. I suppose that many people live quite a ways from their polling place, so maybe that's the justification.
But I think that people should make the effort to actually show up in person to excerise their privilege of voting, and have to show a proper ID when doing so.

Thanks.
At this point I'd settle for where someone on the Internet provided proof that wasn't immediately debunked.
