WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama admitted on Tuesday he was wrong to say his uncle helped liberate the Nazis' Auschwitz concentration camp after Republicans said Soviet troops freed the camp.

Obama's campaign said the candidate meant to say that his great-uncle, Charlie Payne, had helped liberate a part of the Buchenwald camp, not Auschwitz.
"Yesterday he mistakenly referred to Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald in telling of his personal experience of a soldier in his family who served heroically," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.
Is this the same thing as Hllary sniper fire? Hmmm.....only IF Hillary was under sniper fire in some other country.
Obama's great uncle did helpliberate a concentration camp. Wrong camp, right people.
Anti-Obama people would score more points if they stop talking about his '57 states' and 'different concentration camp' story and talk about his lie/mistake with regards to selma march and his parents.

McClellan repeatedly embraces the rhetoric of Bush's liberal critics and even charges: “If anything, the national press corps was probably too deferential to the White House and to the administration in regard to the most important decision facing the nation during my years in Washington, the choice over whether to go to war in Iraq.

Among other notable passages:
• Steve Hadley, then the deputy national security adviser, said about the erroneous assertion about Saddam Hussein seeking uranium, included in the State of the Union address of 2003: “Signing off on these facts is my responsibility. … And in this case, I blew it. I think the only solution is for me to resign.” The offer “was rejected almost out of hand by others present,” McClellan writes.
• Bush was “clearly irritated, … steamed,” when McClellan informed him that chief economic adviser Larry Lindsey had told The Wall Street Journal that a possible war in Iraq could cost from $100 billion to $200 billion: “‘It’s unacceptable,’ Bush continued, his voice rising. ‘He shouldn’t be talking about that.’”
• “As press secretary, I spent countless hours defending the administration from the podium in the White House briefing room. Although the things I said then were sincere, I have since come to realize that some of them were badly misguided.”
• “History appears poised to confirm what most Americans today have decided: that the decision to invade Iraq was a serious strategic blunder. No one, including me, can know with absolute certainty how the war will be viewed decades from now when we can more fully understand its impact. What I do know is that war should only be waged when necessary, and the Iraq war was not necessary.”
This is from the Scott McClellan book to be released next week. As former Bush Secretary he just might know what he is talking about. Yes Obama mispoke and Bush? And the consequences in dollars and lives?

Big difference, Obama wasn't with his great uncle and said the wrong location. Hillary WAS in Bosnia and didn't know what was going on around her.
Yep, Hillary's was a direct lie. She was there, she knew better. Obama just got Auschwitz and Buchenwald wrong, they were still both concentration camps and it's not like he was there as in Hillary's lie.

Hey dude this is big news and makes some claims in here look rather pale and a continuation of a White House running for politics and not governing. Reverend Wright ended up being referred to in different threads as appropriate. He didn't allow 4,000 Americans soldiers to die, How many thousands of Iraqi citizens and spend how much money for what Bush's own press secretary called a war that was not needed and lied about. Now that is news and to some malfesance in office. It gives credence to liberal left blogs like this one: Two point four TRILLION DOLLARS... Yes excerpts from the book should and shall be used within and across a wide spectrum of blogs. How many threads in here make reference to Wright?
