He has the approval of the republican base - around 70%. Those are the deep pockets who will give to McCain.

The congress is ten points lower than that!

Yeah, that wasn't my point there.

My point was the poster was trying to claim 80% of the country approves of Bush, and 20% disapproves, and threw out a "OMG DIRTY LIBERAL TWISTING FACTS!" accusation, which is ridiculous.

I got that. I have no idea how they could try and spin that. But people always surprise.

They've been real stingy so far, though...

Attacks from a chicken hawk of all people- claiming less than honorable service for both McCain and Kerry... How could true blue republicans support that? They've strayed from the real values that kept our country united & strong. Pitiful.

Yeah, but Congress is nearly half Republican still.

The Republicans will give it low ratings because it's got a Democratic majority, and the Democrats will give it low ratings because it's still got too many Republicans in it.

So what?
Doesn't change Bush's historically low ratings.

Ken

Indeed they are, because the problems disturbing america so much are not actually within their jurisdictional control, but avg americans believe it is. Foriegn policy and energy policy are the full cure. Until everyone can see the forrest from the trees, all parties will continue back biting campaigns. Every single player suffers from their own version of misery. Attacking the gas attendant will solve nothing.

True accountability would mean Big industry apologizing for it's undermining of technology instead of embracing it with progressive thinking, gov't enabling sheople infrastructure for over 100 yrs on both sides of aisle, and american citizens admitting they've been piggies. Can everyone participating in insanity please stand up?

Bush didn't do this alone, he just opened one last door for abusive market... and now the deer in headlights look... it's dejavu all over again.
