She has defiantely ruined her chance for a future presidential run. The only hope she has of becoming president is becoming Obama's VP and running after Obama serves 8 years. Hillary does have a chance at becoming New York's governor but thats is as high is she going to go.

I must disagree with the VP comment. I think she kissed that goodbye with the assassination comment. Not gonna happen.

Even though I’m not a Hilary supporter, I really hope this is one of those speculated articles and she’s not really this focused on herself because everytime I listen to her on the radio or watch her on TV all she talks about is American unity. I just don’t want to believe that she’s really that bad of a person.

And despite a campaign debt of more than $20 million, Clinton is still buying air time for ads like the one that is now airing and promises, "I will get us back to fiscal responsibility."

I've heard the speculation that Hillary thinks her best bet now is for Obama to lose this November, opening the door for her to run against McCain in 2012.

I don't buy it, though.

If she torpedos Obama's campaign, she will never get another shot at the Democratic nomination. And she'll probably not get the party's support for her next senate run, either. Her days as a power in the Democratic party will be done. She's far too smart a politician to cut off her nose to spite her face. If she scorches the earth, the ground is burned under her feet too, and she understands that. After next week's primaries, she'll come out as an enthusiastic Obama supporter. And all the pundits who've been blabbering endlessly about the rift in the Dem party will shift gears to amazement at the party's newfound unity and focus.

Yes, the irony here is pretty funny. Great material for SNL or Stephen Colbert.

What if she did steal the nominee somehow. Does she and her campaign really think that she would get the supporters of Obama if she played the dirty card. I don't think so. I think by them giving it to her there would be a very low turnout for the Democrats come November and McCain would be the winner.

The obvious explanation for Hillary continuing to campaign is financial. As soon as she stops running, her funding dries up. I think she's trying to get enough contributions to repay the loans she made to her campaign, or to at least minimize the loss.

In addition, there's speculation that she is negotiating with the Obama campaign (who are still very fat, financially) so that Obama will pay off her campaign debts. If she behaves badly, that option disappears.

She's already talked herself out of the veepstakes. She won't make another major blunder that will have a negative effect on her family's assets.
