Katie Hobbs is set to take office this week after her narrow and highly questionable election win.

Lake argues that Katie Hobbs’ swearing-in ceremony on January 2nd and the “electoral chaos” that targeted and disenfranchised Republican voters in Maricopa County on Election Day justify an immediate decision from the Arizona Supreme Court and a new election.

The filing cites “evidence put forward in this case, including the changing and conflicting testimony of Maricopa officials, and sworn testimony by whistleblowers employed by Maricopa,” to show that Maricopa County failed to verify mail-in ballot signatures, failed to keep chain of custody for 300,000 ballots, and caused massive “chaos” on election day causing tabulators to reject tens of thousands of ballots, disproportionally targeting Republican voters.

lol the SC refused to overturn the 2020 election even when Trump begged them and filed multiple challenges what makes Lake think they will rule in her favor?

With that said Hobbs was sworn in this morning

It's the Arizona SC not US. Former Gov Ducey packed that court by adding judges and then appointing right wing cronies to fill the new slots so he could get more favorable treatment of "conservative" causes. Even then, unlike the US court, they tend to follow law and precedent and have only abused their powers when it came to protecting wealthy special interests most of which are aligned against Lake. So it is highly unlikely that she would prevail. But who knows anymore? Fairness and justice can no longer be taken for granted in the courts.

It's not their money. The rubes will keep donating.

And, of course, the other angle: Republicans are losing ground at the polls. They know it. Planting the seeds that elections that fail to reward Republicans must be fraudulent is very useful for the coming push to argue that the voters must be removed from influence. Which is how Republicans intend to hold on to power.

There's a concerted conservative effort to put the electoral college votes under state legislature control, for instance.

When conservatives start losing elections, they will attack the idea of letting elections decide matters rather than give up power.

Its an easy way to raise money after a loss..

Ah ok Sorry, misread the article. Either way, I don't think any court is gonna install Crazy Lake as Governor.

With all the problems Arizona had, Kari Lake certainly had a good enough reason to question the results. The most egregious problem was having her opponent be in charge of counting the votes. I am not surprised by the outcome.

Lake had the deck stacked against her from the beginning.

She's now going interviews calling herself the "duly elected" governor. The woman is either nutso, or running the grift all the way.
