Talk of Obama's so-called associations with radical groups really concerns me. How much of it is really true? I would hope that we realize that what you see on the internet or even printed in some publications isn't necessarily true. I've tried to be as objective about Senator Obama as I can, but hearing about associations with "the weathermen group" and of course what we know about Rev. Wright has given me time to pause. Should I vote for this man? What's to be believed and what isn't?

Have you actually done any research on the matter or just drew these conclusions based on the chattering of internet messageboards. Do a bit of research for yourself and you'll see that things are not as cut and dry as many on either side would believe. Additionally do some research in context of all other candidates, don't just look at his supposedly dubious associations, look at the supposed dubious associations of all candidates, look at the reality of the associations rather than the whispers around the virtual watercooler and judge for yourself.

Naturally, since I've gone on record stating the 'victim' of my support . I will not attempt to convince you of my beliefs on this matter, go and draw your own conclusions, but for the love of God, do not draw them from this messageboard.

Haven't you seen the images!!! Don't they speak for them self, there are too many to be just a one time incident or mis speaking...it is too much...I would have walked out of that Church after the first time... these rev. are proud to say these hate things about Americans....and not happy that it came out, so can you imagine what we haven't heard if this is already what is in the open.

This isnt the place to look for unbiased advice as you know! I dont think City-Data > Politics is a good cross section of the country - people who spend time posting behind a keyboard instead of living their lives are...different But you'll find people bring up points and ideas that you might not have thought of, so it's valuable in that way.

The Weathermen Group association - he and William Ayers were on the Woods Fund of Chicago's board of directors at the same time.

You'll have to look at voting records, news sources that you trust....The candidates' Wikipedia entries are thorough and well footnoted, and from the footnotes and in-text links you can branch out further in your reading. Ontheissues dot org is unbiased. Their own campaign websites give their official stances on the issues. Seeing and hearing their speeches.

You'll no doubt find things that trouble you concerning every candidate. Gotta do your own research and make your own decisions.

Im partial to Obama, and I find that I've spent a goodly part of my life - well, this last month - posting and posting and posting links and quotes from credible, reputable, straightforward, ground-zero-fundamental sources trying to refute insane claims and fallacies - Muslim, communist, socialist, weathermen, Rev Wright, all those things - and they're ignored mostly, they just bounce right off. Probably the same for people doing the same for claims against McCain and Hillary.

You just have to do your own research and be honest.

There is simply no need to do extensive research. The revealing "images" are there for all those who are sane and rational to view, and make their logical conclusions. Who can get beyond the outrageous racism to do any other "research" on this marxist candidates' "real issues"?!

Thank you for illustrating the problem with taking the advice of posters on this board as reliable objective research.

Images are certainly good tools but they're not the only source of information out there. Researching on your own isn't difficult, and is the only way you can be sure you're getting as close as you can to the truth. For example, research will show you that Obama's economic plans are capitalist, not Marxist.

Yep... you'll find plenty of posters who don't want you to read the facts but only want you to drink the Kool Aid.

And TV and radio hosts, and "pundits," and plenty of folks who get paid to influence your opinion.

When a candidate has so totally crossed the line, as has Baraka, there is NO need for me to waste my time looking into the "why" and "wherefore" of his various policies and issues. I have no interest, other than to shun his ridiculous notions as those of a naive adolescent, who has been drilled over the years by the Elites to do their bidding. They have almost succeeded, and will not take losing lightly, as they have come so close to their agenda to destroy our nation as we know it. No, they will not give up easily, or without a fight. These effete leftist nuts I HAVE researched extensively. Obama is merely their pawn.
