Agree. Whatever he was on last night...it worked.

Yes I heard that, it would be a big mistake for him. A coherent focused Biden like we saw at the SOTU versus the usual juvenile Trump name-calling routine? If he is smart he won't want the world to see that contrast.

Sure his hardcore followers would lap it up but his real worry is about Haley voters and Independents - I don't see a debate with Biden garnering any more votes for Trump from those groups. It would likely have the opposite effect.

Ah yes, the right-wing propaganda machine kept telling us Biden was feeble and senile and wouldn't be able to make a speech lasting more than a half hour without keeling over dead. Along comes Biden and makes a rousing, energetic speech lasting more than an hour. Because the right-wing propagandists refuse to believe their propaganda is wrong, even though it clearly was, they instead explain away what their eyes and ears told them by claiming he was on drugs.

100% guaranteed they'll go through the same cycle of pre-debate propaganda and then, when Biden does better than they expected in the debates, denial and excuses after the fact.

Do you think he wasn't given medication to boost his energy level?

He was not given medication to boost his energy. Your propaganda about Biden being senile and feeble is wrong, but you don't want to admit it.

Biden would need to know the questions in advance, have the answers loaded into the teleprompter and time his meds accordingly. I’d like to see a true debate, where Biden will answer questions off the top of his head sans teleprompter, sans Adderall.

Biden would put to rest the question of his cognitive state.

Trump would have to stay on script unencumbered by his ego.

Undecided Independent voters have an important voting decision ahead of them. They may very well decide the American political landscape for many years to come.
Trump cannot debate LOGICALLY. His emotions and EGO would get in the way. Go back to his "debate" with Hillary in 2016 when he went over to HER Podium and she said to him, "Get out of MY SPACE".

What did Trump say to Haley? Her mode of dress? Her Husband? Confusing her with Pelosi on January 6th? How can he debate in a LOGICAL mode?

Not just Independents but Non-Magna Republicans as well. Hello, THIRD PARTY Candidates. Remember Bush, Clinton, and ROSS PEROT?

You can watch interviews with him where he does exactly what you're describing. Such as this from just 5 months ago.

He has been making gaffs while reading from a teleprompter since he took office. And regardless of political affiliation many believe he's too old to run again. .

Yet there he was last night - at times speed reading through the teleprompter and other times shouting.

Yeah, Biden was on something last night. Which isn't a putdown because he pulled it off.

Had he f-ed up my guess is that would have been the final straw. The Dem leadership would be desperately looking for ways this morning to get rid of him.

Biden already debated Trump. People know the differences. Trump disgraced himself when he tried to overturn an election and tried to stay in office. He does not deserve the courtesy of being allowed on the same stage as Biden. Besides, Trump cannot follow basic debate rules and decorum and he himself has recently refused to debate his opponents.
