What a jerk.

As a political matter, McCain clearly understands that in his quest to enchant the hard-right wing of the Grand Old Party, he must rail upon the Supreme Court whenever it happens to disagree with the Bush Administration on legal aspects of the war on terrorism.
Most Americans now recognize the "war on terror" for the farce that it is, This is going to kill his chances in November, and I coudnt be happier.

I guess McCain apologists like polls only when it suits them

Speaking of which, any poll numbers, or did you just pull that inference out of your bum?

63% say we are winning and the other ones are either lost who want to lose the war on terror.
Come on we all know most liberals would sell out American to prove Bush wrong.

This decision is horrible and hopefully when McCain becomes President he will get rid of two of the liberal goofs on that court so we can get back to the laws for Americans and not use foreign laws to rip apart our constitution like they just did.

Ohhh by the way, it helps McCain..... why?
It shows he is not willing to give up Americans rights just because you want something to fail so badly.

Great job McCain! You candidate is too weak to stand up against something that is wrong, that is what is so great about McCain.

Oh give me a break.

63% say we are winning what? The Lottery? They sure as hell arent saying that about the war on terror and especially not about Iraq.

Getting their heads out of the sand. That should be the primary objective of a good many Americans.

And as far as giving up American rights? McCain doesnt think we should give them to those we hold as detainees! Some of them are US Citizens btw.

I'll be the first to bid good riddance to Bush-McCain come November.

Where are you getting your numbers?

Forty-three percent of American voters think the United States and its allies are winning the war on terror, up 1% from last week, but 41% also believe America is not safer than it was before the 9/11 attacks. The latter is down 1% from the week before.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey conducted Monday night finds that, unchanged from the previous week, 24% of voters give the winning edge to the terrorists, and 26% say neither side is winning.

And I love how you act like anyone who thinks we are not winning the war on terror is some kind of anti-American.

I live in NY - I lost people in the attacks - I smelled the smoke from the burning towers for DAYS. We had fighter jets and ambulances blaring by for days. EVERYONE in my area was affected, there were multiple deaths in almost every town.

Here is a NYC based poll from some of the people MOST affected by terrorism:

WHO IS WINNING THE WAR ON TERROR?
Now 6/2006 5/2003 1/2003
U.S. and its allies 36% 43% 53% 32%
Neither side 38% 42% 35% 44%
Terrorists 21% 11% 9% 17%

Do 72% of New Yorkers want to lose the war on terror?

Why would they think we are not safer?

Could it have to do with the open borders? The poll only gives half the story. Id have to say we are safer as we have not been attacked since 9/11.
