The man has effectively gone back on his word, and is hoping the short term backlash is temporary, because it sets his campaign up for the final two months of the election with unprecedented funding.
If you are a conservative, as I am, at this point, you can only hope for Jimmy Carter part deux.

Yeah, there's a long time before the election. Anything can happen. Obama could make a huge gaffe that the public doesn't ignore. McCain could die in a plane crash. Bush could suspend the elections. It ain't over til Jan 20, 2009.
By no stretch is this over or at all predictable. They are to close in the polls and there are to many variables and opportunities for each to score and lose points. Let me ask you this question. If there is a major domestic terrorist attack who gets elected?

Unlike you, some folks in here do their own analysis and rely on their own reasoning therefore they see the writing on the wall.....it's not about the media GET it.
