It's amazing how our news media investigates one thing, then reports another. Most of the reference comes from CNN. Isn't that amazing?

This further finalizes my vote for 2008. None of the above!
Thinks I'm going for Barr for President and back to a GOP legislature.

Enjoy the reading:

Part 1

In just one year . Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might
like to read the following. A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high.
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon.
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet.
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon.
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase).
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate
(stock and mutual fund losses).

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars.
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it! Remember it's Congress
that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Quote of the Day........"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history
of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." -- Barack Obama

Part 2:

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
The Tax Foundation - U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2008

Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008

Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K- tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates. It is amazing
how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing
them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are
elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion
of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen.
This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody
out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3:

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:

Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the
Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be
RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over

I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

Shouldn't this be in the immigration forum?

Also isn't it a little disingenuous to ignore the legislation as well as events set in motion prior to the Democrats taking over the Congress? Or am I off base as the scope of this post is to vilify the Democrats? While I understand the slant of this post, an objective view suggests both parties are to blame and the conservative party hasn't existed for years.

I remember when 2.19 for gas was a lot and folks thought that was astronomical!!

It's another one of those email forwards that make the rounds.
Snopes gives a partial rebuttal for Part 2, they are probably working on the rest of it.
Be sure to scroll down to what the chart should look like, and read the accompany description.
Taxes: Clinton vs Bush--"Show Your Work"

Since voting for Democratic Congress in 2006 rebuttal: Voting for Change

Many don't realize that Bush passed what the Democrats in Congress wanted... that's right... Democrat policies... It can't land on his table if Democrats didn't push for it and made it possible... However I can refute something about your tax rates... Its all true with the numbers but what Obama is saying is to "keep" the tax cuts on the middle class and successful people (under 250k per year) and raise the taxes of everyone above that (those making more than 250k per year).... as well as capital gains tax... probably to 28%.... I think Obama has some things right but he proposes too much communist policies to make it all work... like socialized retirement ON TOP OF social security...wtf? What I expect is that it is going to lead to a LOT of problems and companies are "preparing" for it right now... that's why we have a lot of turmoil in the stock market as companies prepare for Obama... its going to lead to devastating financial turmoil for all Americans and he isn't going to win a second re-election... Democrats are basically going to show their economic ineptitude when Obama is elected... albeit it is a shame because he does have "some" good policies but his communist policies are going to wreck everything and he IS going to stick with his communist policies... the Democrats have basically handed the re-election to a republican after Obama... I don't like democrats or republicans... its sad...

~This makes absolute sense, the Democrats in 1.5 years have wrought this madness.~

Ok. Now that I'm awake, let's look at some objective reality. The numbers in the Senate are 49 - 49. The House 233 - 198, where the Democrats gained 36 seats.

The stock market turmoil is and has been a long time coming and it's cyclical. If anything your argument would be more substantiated had it made mention and credit to the few who control it vs. the many who are just "in it for the ride and whims", of the few.

America's social programs have been in place and instituted into the fabric of this Society specifically because her citizens recognize it is the right thing to have and do. While they can be run more efficiently, there is nothing wrong with the intent of the programs nor the scope of what they were intended to do.
