so you are telling me to stay out of something? imagine that. a liberal who doesn't like a voice that isn't in 100% compliance with their own. I didn't say anything about becoming a hermit, I will come down from the mountain to mate.

FDR is the worst president in united states history. he was good for his time, but in the long run has done more damage to the original intention of small government than any other president.

OK well we agree he was good for his time. But remember he died before "his time" was over. So really it's LBJ or Eisenhower who's the worst president for not reducing all of the government that FDR built up to get us out of the Depression. Right?

actually, if we are talking about greatest presidents while in office, FDR is right there near the top. but he didn't think ahead and now we are stuck with failed government programs that they don't keep tabs on. he was the godfather of the nanny state. LBJ, DE, and ever president in between has enabled failed policies of the past. can you imagine the media frenzy if a president said that they were going to be eliminating welfare? MSNBC would go out and do two human interest stories about people who actually use welfare for good. they would ignore the 98% who abuse it. look at what happens when someone talks about privatizing social security. give me coolidge.

I still maintain that the blame should go to FDR's successors for not phasing his reforms out after the war.

What else could FDR have done to counter the Great Depression besides make all those government programs?
