It will be interesting to see who wins the coming Presidential Election. There is so much in the Media and Polls that says America has had enough of George Bush's policies and most of America want him gone. There is no doubt that if John McCain wins it will be a 3rd Bush term. If McCain wins it will also mean that most of America was really happy with the Bush Administration and want it to continue. Does that mean that many Americans were just criticizing Bush for no reason? If McCain wins the answer is yes.
McCain is not running a 3rd Bush term
but Obama is running as the nut case,
his statement that "we are THE ONE we have been waiting for" sounds like he needs to be on some serious meds.
Good grief.
Right now it looks like half of the country wants Obama. And they state their reasons zealously.
Half of the country supports McCain which you say amounts to a Bush 3rd term. I disagree. Many people agree with the path the country is on and don't want to see it's stance weakened.
If McCain wins the election, it doesn't necessarily mean that people are complaining for no reason. But, it would mean that more Americans would want a more conservative government than those who don't.
I'm not saying Bush got it wrong but when i hear McCain he seems to be enforcing Bush's Strategy. I just hear many people bad mouthing Bush and yet McCain is breaking even with Obama who is the only one of the two who is radically against Bush's policies. If America really wants a change in Policy, Obama must be the choice. If America wants everything to stay the same, McCain is the choice.
I think Bush will be seen quite differently in History. He has stood up to the Islamic terror organisations and has taken the fight to them and stopped them bringing it to America (for now). Even though Bush has done a good job, the prime market failure is not down to him, the energy crisis isn't down to him either, America is in need of new ideas at the top and Obama is the only one of the candidates that might do this.
Republicans support an "All of the Above" philosophy on energy. Obama is NOT the only candidate with new ideas. In fact, his ideas have been around for decades.
Good grief. John McCain is not George W Bush, part two. John McCain has always been known as a renegade in his own party!
If John McCain wins, there will be many reasons - and here are few off the top of my head.
* The voter is a staunch Republican and always votes Republican
* The voter felt Obama was a socialist and O's policies scared him/her
* The voter would never vote for a black man
* The voter likes McCain's stand on key issues (economy, war, education, etc) better than Obama's
* The voter felt Obama, as a first term Senator, was not experienced enuff
* The voter got turned off b/c of Obama's (pick one) wife, former pastor, background, college education, voting record . . .whatever
* The voter just felt more confident about the direction McC would take the country in
A vote for McCain can only be one of two things - a vote for McCain (duh) or a vote against Obama. But it sure won't be a vote FOR George Bush. Even his own party has run from Bush.
And may I add - if we all wanted a third Bush term, we would have made Jeb our candidate.
McCain differs from Bush on many key issues ... especially his economic policy. He voted against Bush's tax cuts because they didn't cut spending enough. In that respect, McCain is truly more of a fiscal conservative than Bush. I never thought of Bush as fiscally prudent at all. He has spent more money, and increased the size of the federal government more than any other President since FDR!
While McCain isn't a liberal, he is more moderate on social issues than the hard core Republicans. During his initial run in 2000, he spoke out against the religious right. He actually stands a better chance of winning if he doesn't pander to the right wingers, and remains consistent without waffling one way or the other.
