There doesn't seem to be much doubt in that McCain violated the Code of Conduct and collaborated with the communists. Make up your own mind whether to hold it against him or not but many Vietnam vets do.
I'm sure if he used marijuana, or even heroin while in Viet Nam(widely used and readily available by American forces I might add) daddy would have made sure it was removed from his records....just a thought.
You don't have a clue, do you? I guess I can't blame you. Most people learned their history from Hollywood. When John McCain was "in" Vietnam (not counting his 5.5-year stay in the Hanoi Hilton) drugs were not widely available or used. That was in the 1966 to 1967 time frame. More importantly McCain, as an A-6 bomber pilot, was sationed aboard a carrier navigating the South China Sea. He was "in" Vietnam only in a technical sense. Highly unlikely that drugs would have been widely available or used on board ship at that time.
Agree. Calling McCain a traitor is heinous and outrageous. Be ashamed! This man SUFFERED. He was not in some Country Club prison, for God's sake. What on earth do you want to know other than he served and was honorably discharged?
Both my service record and my medical record are really thick. It makes sense.
A page from when you checked out from one command. A page for when you checked into the next command. etc.....
10 pages of your background before enlisting.
Each of the security briefing statements.
After 20 years in uniform they still have a page listing the uniforms that I received in bootcamp and how much money was withheld from my pay to pay for those uniforms.
There is tonnes of junk that collects in a service jacket.
Many felt senator Kerry made a big mistake in waiting to release his file. Senator McCain's "nothing to see here" posture may be as regretted.
