ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- Police raided a rental hall used by a group organizing protests at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Friday.

The RNC Welcoming Committee, which describes itself as "anarchist/anti-authoritarian," accused St. Paul police of trying to disrupt their protest planned for Monday, the day the GOP convention is set to begin.

While no one was arrested, the group said police temporarily detained and photographed at least 50 people who were inside the building.

St. Paul Police spokesman Tom Walsh said they were executing a search warrant.
"The cause for the search warrant is not public at this time," Walsh said.
As many as 30 police officers entered with guns drawn, according to witnesses in the building.

And the picked a slow news time to do it. This is so revealing and who knows what is next if the election remains close. This is the state of Gov Pawlenty and with Palin as the VP now, law enforcement knows to do as you are told not what the law says.

The GOP is so paranoid and controlling. They take any excuse they can get to stomp all over our personal liberties. They wouldn't want some peaceful protesters to make them look bad now would they?

And your leader OsamaBiden voted for FISA? and we are stomping on your personal liberties.

OsamaBiden in the last week tried to shut down two different constitutional rights of US citzens because they were mad someone would expose him for what he is.

You have things completely backwards.

Nobama has your people suckered so bad.

Well if it's any consolation, or will be any consolation...VP Biden has had extensive work with police legislation to make the nation more secure.

I expect the ACLU to get involved in this.

No arrests? But guns drawn and 30 people photographed?

The Democratic Party is the only party besides Ron Paul and the Libertarian party attempting to fight for civil liberties.

It is true Obama caved in on the FISA vote. He was dead wrong and the law will be challenged on Constitutional grounds that it limits the Judicial branch's powers.

But most Democrats did vote against FISA. Rightly so. But with 98% of the radical GOP voting for it along with a minority of bad Democrats it passed.

People have got to understand, the GOP has long ago abandoned their supposed "love for the Constitution". They couldn't care less about law breaking

and wiretapping without Judicial oversight. As long as their side are the one's doing the law breaking they don't give a sht. This is correctly known as

Authoritarianism, not Conservatism.

*** Well it now looks like there were two arrests. "Conspiracy to create a riot"....Sounds like something like the government of mainland China would dream up.
