I am starting to believe that Barrack Obama is really a Black Nixon or Jimmy Carter. He is highly intelligent but seems to lack the ability to make personal (not political) friends in Washington. Nixon and Carter had few real personal friends, Obama is the same.
One thing you can say about McCain or Biden is that they have many people in Washington that like them as people. They both have many long term personal friends in Washington. I am not talking about friends of political convenience, but true personal friends.
How about true personal friends from his days in Il, in the State Senate?

Who cares? Are we picking a President or making our choice for "most personable" in the class yearbook??? Personally, I'd rather he not have alot of close personal friends in Washington- it'll make it easier to be objective as President.

Again, I am not talking about political friends, but personal friends of influence and authority. I have not seen anyone from his days in the State Senate in IL come forward and state they can verify that Obama is a good person. He seems to have no true real personal friends of note from anywhere.
On the other hand Biden (his running mate) and McCain have many close personal friends who love them because of who they are and come from both parties. Great politicians have close personal friends in business, government, media and academic worlds, Obama seems to have none!
If Obama was applying to be a CEO of a Fortune 500 Company, who would the Search Firm call as his Professional References? Who really knows him as a person?
