American spirit and pride, and greatness, were not built on taking the "easy road". So many today know nothing about that though, sadly.
And you think Obama had the easy road.

He wasn't a prisoner of war..but I'd hardly call his life and experiences the "easy road" and to do so is disrespectful to Obama.

BOTH candidates have great character and have something to offer.. however McCain is NOT offering what I want for this country.. and Obama is offering something I think we sorely need. I'm willing to break away from the same old same old for something new, fresh and in a different direction.

I give much respect to McCain for what he's been through and his experiences.. I dont doubt either candidate has teh best of intentions in this election.. but it just so happens that i don't feel the direction McCain points in is the direction we need to continue to go in...

Most bills are approved with a 90% majority in Congress. That is just an empty talking point for whichever side uses it. Obama voted with Bush almost 50% of the time...
I am not rich, but Bush cut my taxes. In fact at the time of those cuts I was making less than 40k a year. Being single and a renter when they were implemented was a welcome break having no write-offs. The whole tax cuts for the rich is spin, as usual. It has just been said so many times it has become "fact". All the information is readily available, put people keep listening to rhetoric instead of looking up the facts for themselves. It is hard to cut taxes for people that do not pay them in the first place.

Great point and great visual. Not sure why people can't see this more clearly and get it. Does it attest to the massive lack of teaching even the basics (of a pie chart) in the public school system? Has been a long time, but believe that is about a 4th grade lesson.

Anyone else think Palin sounded like the woman cop from the movie Fargo?

I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think it only fair to point out, the concern about obama raising taxes on the middle class rises from his plan to raise taxes on small business owners -- the majority of whom are middle class. Talk to them about it, and how his plans will affect their livilihood, and you will understand that their concern is geniune.
I am a small business owner so I decided to research what you say here and I found this: FactCheck.org: McCain's Small-Business Bunk

Quote:
As for actual income tax rates, which is what McCain keeps talking about, Rogers says "if they make over $250,000 and file as individuals ... their taxes go up." But this leaves out all but a very small fraction of those McCain counts as small-business owners. Rogers also says taxes will go up if small-business owners "have capital gains or dividends," but Obama's proposal would not increase rates on capital gains or dividends for couples making under $250,000, or singles making under about $200,000, regardless of whether they are classified as small-business owners or not.
Quote:
For all these reasons we judge that the actual number of small-business employers who would face higher tax rates under Obama is probably far below 663,608, and certainly a far cry from McCain's ridiculously inflated 23 million figure.

Having a bill pass BY 90% still doesnt' change the fact that 90% of the time he voted WITH Bush?? It could have STILL passed, but McCain didn't have to be in that 90%? Or maybe if he didn't vote with Bush it would have.. oh NOT gone through!!

I don't want to clutter things up with facts, but for the first 6 years of the Bush administration it was a REPUBLICIAN House and Senate.

They spent like drunken sailors and paid the price in 2006. I say vote them all out and start fresh. While we are at it, get rid of the lifelong beaurocrat class as well as they really hold the sway.
