For those of you that don't believe it...watch Bubba HO on O'Reilly tonite (or TIVO it like the rest of us will since most of us will be watching the Convention and McCains acceptance speech)...but here is a little tidbit!
Don't bother denying he says this unless you want to eat crow in the am when it will be posted everywhere! If he DOESN'T say this tonite, THEN you can whine and cry.
From the O'Reilly Factor:
The troop surge in Iraq has been more successful than anyone could have imagined, Barack Obama conceded Thursday in his first-ever interview on FOX News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”
As recently as July, the Democratic presidential candidate declined to rate the surge a success, but said it had helped reduce violence in the country. On Thursday, Obama acknowledged the 2007 increase in U.S. troops has benefited the Iraqi people.
“I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated,” Obama said while refusing to retract his initial opposition to the surge. “I’ve already said it’s succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”
No, I thinks its more the "well the surge is working, even though I said it wasn't, so I was wrong and now I'd like to change the topic to the war in general even though I could have done that back when I was slamming the surge and saying it wasn't working..."
Petraeus is a genius. Too bad he wasn't in charge of this quagmire from the outset. He'll straighten out the Afghanistan mess and then team up with Palin or Jindal in 2012, can't wait.
