Apparently the GOP wants everyone to praise them for their historic pick of a woman for their VP candidate. Ok, fair enough

Welcome to the 20th century!

Unfortunately that glass ceiling was broken over 20 years ago by the Democrats. This may be a 'historic' pick for the GOP, but for the rest of American it is last century. It would be great if the GOP could join the rest of us in the 21st century.

This 'historic' pick is old news - just like your candidate for President.

again the GOP just wants to imitate Obama's success. They would never put a black person in that position so they went with the next best thing, a woman. By making it a historic event, it increasing the enthusiam.

Remind me again which party put the first woman on the Supreme Court?

Or which one had to fight southern Democrats to get civil rights legislation passed?

Or which one freed the slaves?

Or whose cabinet has been more "diverse" -- Bush's or Clinton's?

Whatever you think of him, Alan Keyes was running in the GOP primaries long before Obama ran for the Democratic nomination.

It's good to know a little history before spouting off ...

Did you read the topic and/or post? This is about the GOP VP candidate decision. Nice try at changing the subject though...

What I find sad is that this country is over 200 years old and we still are having these type of "firsts". It should be a non-issue at this point.

Right. Two females in the second spot in the history of this nation is "old" news. Palin will make history again by being the FIRST VP in our history.

Then why are you asking for praise now?

Shirley Chisolm ran in the Democratic primaries when Alan Keyes and Bill Kristol were watching each other get dressed for school.
