Default Oh yeah, the people are getting p#*!ed off!

Well, even though I don't put much faith in polls to tell me anything one thing can certainly be concluded from these polls. Americans are not happy, not one damn bit. We aren't happy with Bush, with Congress, or with the direction our nation seems to running in. I'd say this sends a clear message to those in seats of power. The people are about to get serious, and if you wish to keep your job you had better start speaking for the people instead of for yourselves. At least, that's what I got out of it.

These polls change daily, so who knows what will happen over the next seven weeks? It could go either way. Half the country is conservative and half the country is liberal.

No real surprise in the poll change. The Democrats had their convention and got a bump, now it's the Republicans' turn.

Maybe TuborgP finally realized that the only numbers that matter are the ones after election day.

The numbers I found interesting...

The President's approval rating - 30.4%
The Democrat-controlled Congress' approval rating - 17.8%
The percent of responders who believe our country is headed in the right direction - 18.8%, very reflective of Congress' approval rating.

The 17.8% approval of Congress is the approval rating of ALL of Congress - not just the Democrats in Congress - and mainly is indicative of unhappiness with the current deadlock.

And since the Democrats in Congress have not really done anything yet, the direction of the country is the same direction is was in when the Republicans were in charge of Congress - and are STILL in charge of the White House.

Then, shouldn't the President's and the Congress' approval ratings be at least somewhat close? People favor the Pres over the Democrat-controlled Congress nearly 2 to 1.
