Do you really listen to him? No wonder you are confused.

Obama is not an elitist, he is above an elitist.
You know the OP also is a person who drives 60 MPH on the highway....so we know how slow he gets it.

Bill Maher....who wants to listen to that annoying guy...Only Larry King likes him I guess.

Yep, I would say she is pretty smart if she has been mayor and governor and has accomplished all the things she has and has the approval rating she does. You are SHOWING your ignorance, though, with comments like this.

You nailed it....These lefties are coming up with more and more ridiculous things and are digging their own grave.

Bill Maher is so honest and logical. I saw an old HBO special of his last weekend in which he was taking apart the Republicans and their hypocrisy, must have been from about 2006. BRILLIANT.

I posted this somewhere else, but it applies here too:
This is from an editorial by Paul Krugman in Thursday's NYT. (In this editorial he also mentions a brilliant book on the history of this fascinating topic, Nixonland by Rick Perlstein.)
[D]on’t be fooled either by Mr. McCain’s long-ago reputation as a maverick or by Ms. Palin’s appealing persona: the Republican Party, now more than ever, is firmly in the hands of the angry right, which has always been much bigger, much more influential and much angrier than its counterpart on the other side.
...
...how much of the anger on the right is based not on the claim that Democrats have done bad things, but on the perception — generally based on no evidence whatsoever — that Democrats look down their noses at regular people.

....the peculiar cult of personality that not long ago surrounded George W. Bush — a cult that celebrated his anti-intellectualism and made much of the supposed fact that the “misunderestimated” C-average student had proved himself smarter than all the fancy-pants experts.

And when Mr. Bush turned out not to be that smart after all, and his presidency crashed and burned, the angry right — the raging rajas of resentment? — became, if anything, even angrier. Humiliation will do that.

What the G.O.P. is selling, in other words, is the pure politics of resentment; you’re supposed to vote Republican to stick it to an elite that thinks it’s better than you.
There are other shades to the RW characterization of "liberals" that Krugman doesnt address here, equally used by the RW as tinder to feed the base's steady anger. Consider the tone and thrust of right wing media news and messages, subtle and not so.

Bill confuses self absorbed naval gazing with intelligence. Talking about people one way in Scranton and then trashing them while talking to the chardonnay crowd in San Francisco aint to bright.

Could you describe this socalist agenda?

Is it anything like distributing $3,269 to every man, woman and child in Alaska from oil companies - "the people's wealth"?
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell announced Friday that every eligible man, woman and child will receive $2,069, thanks to dividend payments from the state’s oil royalty investment program distributed annually. On top of that, the checks will include another $1,200 from the state treasury to help offset soaring fuel prices.

The one-time energy boost was proposed by Gov. Sarah Palin and approved by state lawmakers last month. Palin has since been tapped as the running mate of Republican presidential hopeful John McCain.

“The royalty dollars that flow through the state are the people’s wealth,” said Parnell. “The $1,200 resource rebate goes to that philosophy.”

So honest and logical he calls the majority of America stupid.....and he wants to be famous....that's ironic.

I think those who claim him as an elitist have this problem, those who don't think he is one and still vote against him based on the issues have my respect.

My dear poor child, just because someone happens to make politics a career choice does not necessarily mean he or she is smarter than others. I do not know exactly how smart this woman happens to be, but I certainly would not be so presumptuous to assume she would be smarter than me or anyone else for that matter. Your statements are truely showing YOUR ignorance. Now, go read a book!
