I would be willing to bet that everyone who has ever run for president has had to do some real thoughtful soul searching, conferring with family and advisors, weighing of the consequences of not only running for the office but of what holding the office would mean, and, if spiritual, a lot of prayer. For someone to answer that they didn't have a moment's hesitation about assuming the office that could make them a heartbeat away from the presidency is a sign not only of her ego but of her ignorance about what that really entails.
yeah...kind of makes you wonder what she would do with the "button"!!!

GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?

PALIN: In what respect, Charlie?

GIBSON: The Bush -- well, what do you -- what do you interpret it to be?

PALIN: His world view.

GIBSON: No, the Bush doctrine, enunciated September 2002, before the Iraq war.

PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made. And with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better.

GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?

PALIN: Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

I love Charlie.......always have since day one of his entering the TV News field.
But, I saw in his face, and his awkward glassses, the eyebrows.........exactly what was up with his questioning..... I felt he more made a big fool of himself, looking so obnoxious.

This is a man I have watched for years, and years..........and yet.......I felt I was watching a person in a Halloween costume. He was like a cat ready to charge.

In regards to Sarahs answer. Many Newsmen after that interview did't know the answer!

I watched some of them say, "did you know? No, did you?"

One wise Newsman said there is actually " NO, Bush Doctrine!"...

Actually, whats down in writing as the true and factual doctrine of Bush?
( I'd really like to know)

They( newsmen) could not come up with any exact thought of how to determine what those tricky words meant.

So..........Personally... I think Sarah did a great job coming back at Charlie and saying all that she did. She knew just what he was doing, and she was able to hold her ground........and.......answer without making a fool of both of them.

She used good words, and gave a fine example of how to deal with a person who looks bound to
do ya' in. She'll do just fine.........
( footnote: I have not decided who I am voting for.......I'm just relaying how I felt on that interview)
