What is more important? If you did not know Russia had veto power in the UN then you should not be running at all. Most of us on this board would have known that.
No one has provided one shred of factual proof that Obama did not know that Russia has veto power. There is just absurd speculation based on the fact that he said the UN SC should pass a resolution. The exact same thing that McCain called for. Just because you think 2 + 2 = 16 doesn't make it so.
Problem is Obama isn't one heartbeat away. . . he'd be the actual beating heart and to not know that Russia has veto power shows he just isn't ready for the big time.
The UN General Assembly has no power and no authority.
All power and authority is vested in the Security Council. Five of the Security Council members, specifically the five permanent members, have veto power.
One of those permanent members is Russia.
What idiot would propose sanctions against Russia, when Russia has veto power?
Well, I guess Obama would. A crisis develops involving Russia and he wants to waste 3 weeks trying to word a UN Security Council Resolution so it doesn't offend anyone and then China and Russia stomp on it.
Obama's lack of knowledge of the operation of the United Nations is just the tip of the iceberg. He is also woefully lacking on foreign and domestic policy as well as economic fundamentals.

He has zero, nada, nothing in foreign policy experience; less than Palin who at a minimum at least has agreements with Canadian companies and gov't.
