The networks had arranged for a "pool" camera- one camera to cover the meetings, whose video would be pooled or shared with all networks. Such arrangements are standard when dealing with intimate high-level meetings between leaders and candidates. But typically, along with cameras, there is an editorial presence-- at least one print reporter, one TV reporter and one radio reporter is standard. Today, the McCain campaign had said it would allow only one editorial person inside. Now, the campaign is saying it wants only the camera inside with no editorial presence. All of the networks are objecting. Stay tuned.
How utterly ridiculous that they are so afraid of the media. What is this communist Russia now? Government controls the access of information that the people get? They could at least let someone like CSPAN roll tape.
It's a shame that the media has deal with this childish behavior by Palin
I don't even blame Palin; she's not bright enough to realize the trouble she could get into by opening her mouth. It's McCain's handlers making the decisions. They handle McCain the same way - feed him talking points, limit media access, control the damage.

This is what we have to look forward to if these thugs ever get elected? I'd be curious if you could find anything were Obama/Biden have done anything similiar (with a link)?
I bet you could not find any.
It happens on both sides. Obama's campaign is the world's worst about controlling his media appearances. Not much spontaneity there either.
It doesn't and has never happened before till palin was selected.
