"Ironically enough, if John McCain goes through with his threat to skip the foreign policy debate scheduled for this Friday for the sake of prolonging and complicating the ongoing negotiations over the Paulson bailout package, it may end up creating another distressed asset -- the University of Mississippi's investment in Friday's face-off. Officials from Ole Miss told ABC News today that a cancellation would be "devastating" to the University -- and that a postponement might not be possible:

I think they are now saying he might do the debate but nothing certain yet.

Mccain was in the wrong not doing this debate because he could have simply have gone back to washington right after the debate .

He will regret not doing the debate and looks foolish.

What will you whine about if the debate goes on?

Do not worry, McCain is going to fix the problem that Obama could not and be there to kick to criminals butt.

Do not forget, Obama doesnt want to go to Washington because he is part of the deal... Franks, Dodd and Obama are the real reason this is happening.

Never fear, McCain will take care of it.

Kick the criminals' butts? What are you talking about? Is McCain now the Attorney General? Admit it, you have no idea what is going on in the Senate right now.

You have got to be kidding right??? You really think McSame is going to DC to "take care of it"??? That has got to be the most insane thing you have ever said!
He is going to DC because this old guy can't do 2 things at once! All they need him for is a vote...ya or nae! But because McSame is afraid to debate (After all he only likes town hall meetings) he is using this as an excuse to delay. Now he is saying the debate could take the place of the VP debates...of course it is! This way Palin gets to spend more time with the flash cards!!!!

You McSame fans are all the same...blinded by the obvious!

I'm just curious. Had Ole Miss been paid? How much had the Ole Miss administrators shelled out? Let's say for instance, they had been paid the entire $5.5M, and had to cough it up, at least most of it, minus deductions for security, admin, other such stuff. Now, had the university actually "lost" anything? Not their fault the Senator pulled the plug. Not their fault McCain deemed the security of the country more important than some silly debate that could be delayed until another day. Not their fault obama would have to rememorize all his crib sheets another day.

Now then, if Ole Miss had not been paid anything already, they haven't lost anything. How can one lose something never gained?

What's 5.5 million compared to a trillion that is largely due to McCain's pressure to deregulate over the years? Palin, on CBS news last night, told Katy Curick that McCain was a maverick who had fought against deregulation. Katie asked her to name one time in 26 years that McCain had opposed deregulation outside of the last week. Palin could not. She dodged the question twice. When Curick insisted she said, "I guess I will have to get back to you on that." So, a great deal of this mess is McCain's. I am sure the 5.5 million simply means nothing to a man who can create a 1 trillion dollar problem. (I know others were involved, but this is the same man who thinks our health care problem can be solved by deregulation--just like we have done in the banking business.)

We all know McCain is an OXFORD scholar. Sure!

We all know McCain is OLE/OLD and the entire country will MISS him tomorrow night.

That should be pretty easy for him, being that they're all in his bus running his campaign.
