I think that Obama doesn't NEED any affirmative action to defeat McCain/Palin. He is clearly so much superior to them in all respects that only a person blinded by racism wouldn't see it.

Of course prejudice runs both ways. And prejudice takes many forms. Like belittling people for saying they've been discriminated against, and who want people to know about it and understand what it feels like. They aren't just whining about it, most of the time they are trying to get people involved in the issue and to stop pretending that it doesn't exist.

Like DC said, there is a significant percentage that want a candidate they can relate to. Yes, skin color does play into it. Someone should find out how many of McCain supporters are white.
