Forty years from now, the odds are pretty good that somebody on this forum will end up being a politician. And somebody else will end up doing something notorious. Or illegal. Or both.
Will the politician lose an election because way back in 2008 he foolishly said "rotflmao" after a joke made by the future bad guy?
Will opponents insist the politican "renounce" city-data? Will they make a big stink about his "past associations"? After all, when you participate in city-data you're associating with all kinds of people...
You may be fresh out of college, just starting your career and not even thinking about a future political career. Doesn't matter, just posting in the same forum and reading a comment from a future "bad guy" might get you in trouble 40 years from now.
Of course, if 40 years from now people really cared about something like that, it would be--you know--stupid.
