Thanks, James.

That makes sense. I can't imagine that Texas would ever be a breeding ground for the looney left. It might be a good place to build a viable, moderate third party, though!

You need to go back to school. "Liberal" and "Democrat" are not the same as "left." The "left" is far more radical (and in good ways, sometimes) than liberalism or the Democratic party will ever be.

Conservatism and common sense....That's my "cup of tea," teatime. If I'm ever out your way, I might take you up on the offer.
I might be tempted to agree with you if the Republican party truly represented anything resembling conservative. They are no longer conservative and no longer have much common sense.

Oh, Texas will vote Republican again. I work at a place in Dallas with about 40 employees and only about 3 vote Democrat. At a relative's job also in Dallas they have about 20 office people and only 1 votes Democrat.

I used the word "left" very purposefully. Are you saying that the looney left WOULD establish itself in Texas? By choosing Obama, the Democratic Party has chosen to move to the looney left. It is what it is. This is no longer the moderate party of the Clintons.

And telling me to "go back to school" shows how insecure you are.

In my immediate work area, there are 11 people. 3 of us are definitely voting for Obama. 5 are definitely voting for McCain. The other three keep their mouths shut, but when we discuss issues, they tend to agree with McCain. So, I am thinking that the real number will be 8 for McCain and 3 for Obama. But this is Abilene. Red city; red county; red state.

Well one of the reasons I started this thread is due to all the Obama signes I've seen in Sugar Land. When's the last time you saw a crackhouse in Sugar Land, Teatime?

No, the "left" will never establish itself in Texas.

On another note: Obama is not a "leftist"--and stating that he is only shows how uneducated you are.
