MAYBE THE QUOTE OF THIS GREAT REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT AGAINST THE 'SPREADING THE WEALTH' PHILOSOPHY SHOULD BE TATTOOED ON BARACK OBAMA'S CHEST!
"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume VII, "Reply to New York Workingmen's Democratic Republican Association" (March 21, 1864), pp. 259-260.

I'm from Europe. America is different. Pls let it stay that way and let not people like Reid/Pelosi and Obama make this unbelievable good country become socialist like the Europeans. Pls let not msnbc commentators like Obermann, Matthews and Rachel Medow ruin the basic core of freedom and capitalism of this country. They don't know what they're doing.....smart Europeans fled the 'old country' 200 years ago to create a truly different, new, free and good country that swore never to do things like they did in the old Europe!
Obama and his political and media friends say; "let's spread the wealth around" and "let government spend and divide your tax dollars," that isn't so bad right? Let's let everybody who don't have so much take something from the wealthy and let's just give it to those have-nots. Isn't that honorable? Shouldn't that happen everywhere and all the time? C'mon we're helping the less fortunate here, that's just great! Or not?
Here's the truth from Europe, where this has been done done for decades, and I know, because I lived there for decades: It ruins peoples good will, support and charitable feelings. People are NOT willing to do anything anymore for the less fortunate. It has an opposite effect. Hey, if everything is provided and divided by government to the less fortunate, why should I do anything for the poor anymore? Listen, people turn into complete a...holes, believe me, I've seen it in everyday life there. They don't care anymore. Only for themselves. Thats the European truth. You want that here??
This crap about Obama being a socialist because of his income tax increase on those making more than $250,000 is ridiculous. We have had a progressive income tax (with higher rates on higher marginal income) for years. All Obama is doing is adjusting the rates. McCain's tax cut proposal is also graduated, but he gives the bigger percentage cuts to those with the most income. If Obama's plan is redistribution of wealth, so is McCain's.
Any tax proposal that favors one income group over another is "redistribution of wealth."

You don't think that the liberals would pay attention to anything one of their favorite Presidents had to say do you? Hell, the liberals even think that Lincoln was not racist and that he loved the blacks and the slaves. How comical is that? If they don't know the history of this nation, and they don't, then how in the hell do you think they will strive to make the nation better?
Abraham Lincoln DID NOT SAY THIS! Do reseach before Looking Stupid!
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves. William J. H. Boetcker, 1916 (often attributed to Lincoln)

Reply to New York Workingmen’s Democratic Republican Association
Gentlemen of the Committee. March 21, 1864
The honorary membership in your Association, as generously tendered, is gratefully accepted.
You comprehend, as your address shows, that the existing rebellion, means more, and tends to more, than the perpetuation of African Slavery---that it is, in fact, a war upon the rights of all working people. Partly to show that this view has not escaped my attention, and partly that I cannot better express myself, I read a passage from the Message to Congress in December 1861:
“It continues to develop that the insurrection * * * * * * * * * * till all of liberty shall be lost.”
The views then expressed remain unchanged, nor have I much to add. None are so deeply interested to resist the present rebellion as the working people. Let them beware of prejudice, working division and hostility among themselves. The most notable feature of a disturbance in your city last summer, was the hanging of some working people by other working people. It should never be so. The strongest bond of human sympathy, outside of the family relation, should be one uniting all working people, of all nations, and tongues, and kindreds. Nor should this lead to a war upon property, or the owners of property. Property is the fruit of labor ---property is desirable --- --- is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich, shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprize. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.

I think Abe Lincoln would turn over in his grave if he could hear all the BS out of Obamas mouth!
