Had a couple of cogent points, on some election issues. I didn't get to hear it all as I was in and out of the car.

1. On Powell's endorsement of Obama.

A lot of people think endorsement are worthless, whether personal or from newspapers. But what Powell give people who were wavering or undecideds is VALIDATION that the way they were leaning is OK.

2. On Sarah Palin's nomination. (Notice I changed the spelling of her name as I was informed that none of my other posts about her had any validity as she and I don't spell it the same way).

She gave a big shot in the arm to a moribund campaign, reignited the base, which was never happy with McCain anyway-too mavericky. The problem was that to do any good she would have to disappear after the convention!

I'm pretty sure he meant disappear "between the convention and election day".

Anyway, pretty cogent commentary from a guy who can read the numbers.
