It is well known that a number of "red states" get more in federal tax dollars then they pay into the system. The funds largely come from "blue states" that get less federal tax dollars then they pay.

Obviously, this is a form of wealth distribution. And we don't want to be "distributors". So clearly, we should change the tax laws around so the "red states" receive less federal tax dollars.

Sound like a good plan? I hope McCain makes it part of his platform.

Louisiana oil leases are not taxes however they still go to the federal government.

If the Blue States ceased to fund the Red ones, these would become third-world like in a few years.

what a joke that anybody is funding anybody. our country is broke and in debt and all of this present and future spending will not get us out of debt. (you can see my posts on the federal deficit or look it up yourselves).

uh, are you questioning the fact that Blue States, which happen to be richer, give a boatload of money to the Red ones? who would give them relief after hurricanes and tornadoes?
