obama 08
Why dont you be honest and put it in its real context?
"I think whether or not my children or your children will have to struggle with these same issues depends on what we do, and whether we take some mutual responsibility for bridging the divisions that exist right now. And I really want to emphasize the word 'responsibility.' I think that whether you are a white executive living out in the suburbs, who doesn’t want to pay taxes to inner-city children for them to go to school, or you’re an inner-city child who doesn’t want to take responsibility for keeping your street safe and clean, both of those groups have to take some responsibility if we’re going to get beyond the kinds of divisions that we face right now."
I don't know if that is Obama or not. If it is, how terribly ironic that he castigates 'white businessmen' for not wanting to pay for innercity schools yet when obama had $100 million dollars at his disposal to help the children in innercity schools he blew the money on unproven social programs that did not work!
What a jackass!
Edited to add that I have read delussianes further quote and while I stand by my view that obama blew the opportunity the Annenberg challenge could have given the Chicago school system, his quote in context does make much more sense and I am glad to hear him talk of personal responsibility.
